Extending an I Joist to a Beam Edge

I have placed wood beams and I-Joist on a floor plan. I can see both. I some cases (very few) I can extend the I-Joist over the beam to the far side face of the beam which is what I need to do. However, in most cases the I-Joist either extends or trims to the near face, which means the I-Joist is "floating and not sitting on the beam or the I-Joist extends or trims to the center line of the beam.

Is there a setting I need to set?

Marc

When you select the beam check in the properties and there is a place where you can enter "start extension" or "end extension".  This will extend either end of the beam as far as you want.

Okay, how do I know which is the Start or End Extension besides changing the value and seeing which end changed?

The start extension is the start point from when you placed the beam in the model. If you have a lot of beams you need a good memory!!!
