Sorry, but I’m brand new at Revit. When exporting Arial TEXT from Revit to DWG, Autodesk always prepends each string with the full set of control characters, i.e., font, bold, italic, font pitch, and code page. It’s the code page character which is giving fits. The default code page for this workstation’s Revit is “c178”. This causes all simple number strings like 350’-9” to display “9-‘350, or simple labels like “B1 Level” to jump the space and display “B 1Level”. There are other problems with parentheses. In all cases I’ve found, the MTEXT string is intact, it just displays wrong.
I can postprocess all of the drawing files to correct this, either by deleting the |c178 or changing it to no code page |c0, but it would be much simpler to revise the default translator from Revit into DWG format to cite no code page, |c0. Does anyone know where in the registry or options this is located? Thanks a heap, Rick
This was also posted to AUGI but no takers yet.
Revit is hardcoded to always use the code page from the OS. If you would like to see this functionality changed in the future, I would suggest providing comments and a business case as to why this is important to your firm at the Feedback Site.
