exiting a Worsharing project without a save?

say you've done something st00pid in your Local Copy fo the Project,
and for whatever reason, you can't undo the edit to revert back.

What is the proper way to exit the Project *without* saving any changes?
(I'm guessing that Ctrl-Alt-Delete/Task Manager/End Task isn't the
recommened way?,
but that's what I did...)

Any attempt to close the Project prompts for a Save to Central.
I wasn't sure if the "Don't Relinquish" option is still a Save or not?

try saving the project as a New Central file; that should break the link to the old central file.

we've had this problem as we're learning the ropes ourselves. Another problem is that someone will jump into our central file or create a new local file in order to just look at something. inevitably they will take ownership or borrow something and then close the file without relinquishing. this creates all KINDS of problems...

Corey,
"Dont relinquish" option is not a SAVE.
Whenever you work on a local file, revit keeps borrowing elements in the
background against the username. Even if I you undo everything, Revit CANNOT
give back (relinquish) the borrowed elements to the central. You can exit
the project without saving to central, dont relinquish and not saving the
local file. However, there are elements still borrowed against the username
in the central file. Autodesk recommends opening the central file (After you
quit the local without saving) and then select "relinquish all mine".
If you dont want to open the central file:
You could open the lunsaved ocal file again, and do an STC.
But, if you have done too many things in the local file, and if the local
file becomes not compatible with the central file, you need to open the
central to "relinquish all mine".

Are you using 2010 yet? There are now Office-style dialogs (to go along with the ribbon) that have long explanations as to what each option does.

"don't relinquish" doesn't save any changes, but you still have editability.

Not sure why there isn't an option to discard all changes, including any things that you've checked out by touching/editing them.

To add to Nicholas' post:

In your situation I click "don't relinquish".
Then open the central file, save it over your local copy and when you save to central again everything is relinquished and all your bad edits are gone.
