error when changing levels

I have a building model of an addition to a house. The client would like to lower the floor of the new work.

When I click on the level of the new floor in elevation view or section and adjust the level value, Revit gives me the following error:

"A serious error has occurred. It is strongly recommended that you use Save As to save your work in a new file before continuing."

It does not move the level (of course!)
When I try moving the level instead of adjusting the level value, I get the same error message. All I want to do is adjust the new floor level by 170mm.

What am I doing wrong?
Thanks

Paul

You aren't doing anything wrong, there is something in your project that is failing when the change is occuring. You need to send you file to support for them to fix it. While you are waiting, look at in place families or sweeps or other objects that would be affected by the change.

If you are using 8.1 you can try opening the file using the audit checkbox
in the open file dialog. This may clear up the issue as well, without
sending it to us.
