edit family tools doesn't work in revit architecture 2012

I've downloaded revit architecture 2012 student software 1,5 year ago but today i lost the edit family tools and also download into project tools. for example; when i click on the wall or furniture, i can not edit it. what can i do to solve the problem.

That usually happens when you install a newer version. The .NET components of the previous version get affected, causing errors in the behaviour of the ribbon. The solutions is to install the upgrade packages. Search in The Revit Clinic blog, or in the Knowledge Base for service updates that correspond to your version of Revit 2012, and install them in sequence. That fixes the problem.

Actually i solved the problem. First of all; i unistall the program and
then download again and it worked. That was really traditional but
effective way.
