Is it possible to remove the default Family Categories that ship with Revit and add your own? We do very specialized tenant improvement work and the Categories are pretty much useless in their current form. We have a many categories of equipment with tons of sub-categories and would like the Category listing to reflect our needs.
Categories are hard coded. They cannot be renamed or deleted.
Subcategories are user defined and automatically created when a family using
that subcategory is loaded. They cannot be removed if a loaded family
references the subcategory.
