Hi!
I want to insert CAD images to Revit. File format dwg or dxf.
It works ok, but many inserts (components) have lots of extra lines. That is when the shape is round, for example in toilet components: Toilet seats, sinks and so on....
For example the case in attachment.
How can those lines be removed? Or can they? How can they be changed to Revit components, which have smooth and clean round shapes?
Must the original ACAD model be constructed so that it contains no extra lines?

That toilet seat consists of 3D surface objects. It should work quite OK in 3D shaded views, but I would turn its visibility off for 2D views, and use symbolic lines and masking regions to draw the 2D representation.

Hi!
Thank you for your reply!
Your method is one possible solution, but.......
-----------
In 3D view you have to be in "realistic" mode, so that the shape is without those extra lines. In other modes they are still visible.
Is it possible to manipulate 3D dwg objects so, that only the boundary lines are visible in all other views than realistic mode 3D? And must it be done in Autocad?
It is quite time wasting and laborious to insert every component firstly 3d mode and set them unvisible and insert individually them 2D in every views? 😕
Or even draw each component with detail lines.

Many manufacturers have only Autocad 3D components (dwg) or even only 2D.
Complete Revit components are coming and under construction, hopefully. 🙂
I would certainly use them! 😄
