drafting views from 2008 to 2009

not to be expecting too much from revit, but shouldn't there be a way to transfer drafting views from 2008 to 2009; and vice versa ? these are, after all, 2D/dumb files.
if they aren't transferable, then how do we build a detail data base when upgrading to newer revit versiona ?
thanks, jeffrey.

Revit 2009 will update any older Revit format. So
just open the 2008 file in 2009, rename and save if you are going to need the
existing 2008 file to remain in 2008 format. Revit is not backwards
compatibile so you will not be able to save back to 2008 once a file has
been converted and saved in 2009.
