Doors inside windows

How can I have a door family nested into a window family? Walls can't be
put into window families, so what would host the door. And I don't want to
use a curtain wall instead of a window.

your window family should have a wall already in it and the door can go into
that wall.

unless you deleted the wall out or some how are missing it. Then you will
have to start a new window family and place the door and window into the
wall as nested families in there.

Are you trying to build sidelights? What I do is build the frame inside a
family and let the wall host it. Then build the door panel inside a
separate family, nest it, then align lock the door to the frame.

That worked. I just had to redraw the opening around the window minus the
door. Otherwise, there's no wall where the door needs to be hosted.
