Door View Properties

I am working on a project which currently has a GA Plan view and a Setting-out view of one floor in the model.

The external doors show the leaf open on the GA Plan view but closed on the Setting-out view.

Why is the exact same door in the same location changing its appearance from view to view?

Any help with this would be great.

Michael

By chance do you have one view set to a different display detail than the other?  This can have the same result as you describe.

Hi Caddman 13 thank you for your response.

Unfortunately this isnt the solution though as both views are set to the exact same scale and detail level (i.e 1:50 & Fine)

No visibility graphics have been over written either.

Thanks anyway.

How about the View Range?  Is one set differently?

Could you upload the door family?

Thanks for responding again.

Unfortunately these are also set exactly the same but still the door looks different from view to view.

When you say 'upload the door' family', where to exactly?

Thanks.

When you reply to the post there is an area to attach files to.

Here is the family attached.

Please note that this has been created as a window type family but represents a door.

Thanks

Your family looks good.  I did change the visibility setting of the door and glass panels to not show in Plan and RCP.  See attached picture files.   One shows where I changed the settings in the family the other show how it looks in plan.  I also changed the name of the family so you can see the difference in your system.

I hope this helps you get the desired look you are after.

Thanks for the effort you have gone to.

However, unfortunately it still doesnt seem to be working properly.

It is just strange that all the settings in the two views are exactlly the same and yet the door still appears differently.

Its is only the door leaf of the window family which is the problem.

It shows as open in one view and either closed or non-existent in the other.

Much appreciated the time and effort you've spent trying to help me with this!!

Michael,

Any way you can upload the actual project? or email it ?  Want to look at the Properites palette to see the other setting you have going on.

Short of that, check the "discipline" setting on the Graghics section of the Properties Palette.......make sure they are also the same.

I have to help even more now. Have to get it figured out.

One other thought, By chance do you have in the one view the plan swing visibility turned off under windows?  That turns off the door leaf and swing with your family in my project.

Caddman13!!!

Youve sorted it out!!!

I must admit I only checked the door properties were the same under visibility graphics.

I didn't follow the thought that it was a door within a window family!!

They now look the same!!

Thank you very much for the help in sorting this, much appreciated.

Whew!!!!!

I was looking at the door information also, until a light blub went off that you made it from a window family.  Glad I was able to help.

Have a great week.
