I have noticed this previously and today it has finally irritated me enough to try to figure it out. Using Revit LT14 (it occured in 13 as well) when I am in a floor plan view with no command active I type the keyboard shortcut DR and nothing happens. At the bottom of the screen I see it say "Shortcut (DR) Door (Architecture>Build)". However, the properties menu still reads floor plan and the door command is not active. Any ideas? I tried adding another keyboard shortcut which made no difference.

Have you checked the keyboard shortcuts dialog box, to see if the Door command is asigned to "Dr" ?
That was the first thing I checked. I also verified that DR was not in use by any other commands. In addition I tried assigning another letter command to it with the same result.
Thank you for your post. One thought is that due to the nature of the behavior it may be an overall communication issue within the software configuration (whether that be the software or the .net language used for coding). You could first try a repair to the .net frameworks via the control panel on the said system, then restart and test overall operation. Does it still persist. If so it may warrant a repair to the software itself to overcome the issue.
Where it was happening on 2013 and 2014 on the same said system I would lean closer to the .net side of things due to the oddity of the occurrence.
Please keep us posted in the community so we can all best help moving forward where possible. Thank you.
Thank you very much for the help. I was able to try these steps this morning. The .net framework repair didn't resolve the issue, however repairing the Revit installation did the trick. Glad to have the shortcut working again.

Something similar happened to me with trim shortcut. I have reinstalled Revit but TR is still not working not even new shortcut combinations works for Trim commando. All the other shortcuts are working.
