I'm using the CurtainWall:ExteriorGlazing wall and i can not firgure out how
to get a door in one of them. I've loaded the door family for curtain walls
but it's not under doors if i go to add a door. I think i'm supposed to
make a panel of some sort but i'm stuck there. help.....................

You simply need to switch the panel type
TAB 'til you get the panel selected (the one that need to be replace by a door) then select the door in the type selector

It has to be a Curtain Wall Door. There's a couple in your Libary. Also,
look at the Family Templates, you can make one of your own.

You then need to load it. it's under the door folder, it's named Curtain Wall Sgl Glass.rfa or Curtain Wall Dbl Glass.rfa

Another option (although somewhat not recommended) is to host a wall as a system panel and then insert a door or window into that specific wall. That way I can add sliding or casement windows into my curtain wall, or a specific wood or metal door family I already have modeled. Be careful because those elements will not behave like the system panel itself as window or door size will be determined by family settings and not grid locations. But I think if watch carefully and done small scale it can be done, and make sure every subsequent user understand the hosted nature of that element.

I am having the same problem. I go to load the curtain wall door and it does not show up anywhere. I looked under door, walls, and windows to find the door and it is not showing. Where is the curtain wall door after you load it?
