Door frames in the RCP plan, How do I get them?

I have tried to get the door frames to show in the RCP plans but have yet to succeed. I placed Symbolic Lines in the Ceiling Plan of the door family to represent the frame location but they are not showing when in the RCP of the model.

I am lost as to what I should try next.

Thanks for the help.

very simple.
adjust the view properties/cut plane below 7'-0".
or create a plan region.

Let me know if you case is different. These could be more than one solution for this.

I have changed the cut plane to 7'-0" or below to show the doors. I then get items that show that should be shown in the RCP's.

I was under the impression that using symbolic lines and placing them in the Ceiling plan would solve the issue.

I order for the symbolic lines to show, the element has to be "cut". One
"trick" you can use to get items to show in an RCP if they are not cut is to
add an invisible model line to the geometry of the family that will extend
up so the family will get cut.

Thanks Jeff,

I'll give that a try. How hard would it be in Revit to break the Plan/RCP visibility setting out into separate selections? That sure would make this easy.

The reason is there are items you want to show in the plans and not the RCP and vise versa.

Yeah I don't know the reasons "why" it is set up like this in Revit, or how
hard that paradigm would be to change. I will log it as a request. (I am
sure it is already there.)

Hey all, I made a video to help show the steps on how you can show a door in a Reflected Ceiling Plan in Revit. Enjoy!

Is the Symbolic Line Work visible in all Detail Levels (e.g. Course, Medium, Fine)? Check the elements' Visibility Settings.
