Don't want to see floor below

View range is set to stop at current floor
there are no plan regions
there is no underlay

Slabs and all structure are in a linked file

the slabs are visible as if the view depth were set to see the floor below. my second floor slabs are visible in the floor openings on the third floor . ground floor slabs are visible in the floor openings on the second floor.

view range is correct
no plan regions
no underlays

any thoughts?

Can you please post the screen shot of your view range dialog box?

Here is a screenshot of the view range dialog. I've highlighted the slabs on the floor below that we don't want to be visible. These elements are in a linked model.

I dont enough info to solve this. Do the levels of the linked rvt model and
the host model match (or whether both the models sit at the same level?)

Levels match in the two models. We've had some corruptions in the architectural file that prompted us to move the slabs to the structural file. Some copy/paste between the two files rather than re-create the slabs. My theory is that some corruptions in the architectural files are also affecting the structural file.

Are you able to turn off the object in VG? I am sure you have thought of
that just wanted to point that out. Other than that if your view range
is set properly and the underlay is not set then it should work.

Or what about setting the underlay to Level 2 as well?

We could select the object and "Hide Object" from the contextual menu but that change would have to be done for every view in the project and we were hoping to avoid that.

Similarly, if we were to turn off the "floors" category in the VG of the linked model, then items we want to keep for the third floor will disappear along with the items we don't want to display on the second floor.

We could create separate worksets for each of the floors, then turn off the worksets (assuming that can be done with VG on a linked model.

Either way, it seems we have to do a lot of "manual work" in several dozen views for each floor.

Oh well, we've got some late nights ahead anyway, what's another 2 or 3 to play with VG.

In the VG there is a setting for linked files where you can set the VG
properties for the linked model "By Linked view" I am not sure whether you
use this option. But check this too.
