Divisions?

In AutoCAD Architecture the project can be divided into divisions (http://docs.autodesk.com/ARCHDESK/2014/ENU/index.html?url=files/GUID-C8CA8C32-6EB9-4620-ACBF-7C9B597...). Is there anything similar in Revit? Or is there a parameter, that enables dividing the project into divisions during IFC export? The aim is to have an IFC model with divisions, that are visible in a model tree view (for example in Solibri Model Viewer).

As I know there could be some posibilities to obtain something similar with divisions from ACA :

I see three possible ways:

  1. Scope Box  - they can isolate parts of the building but they can not be exported in IFC
  2. Worksets -they also can isolate parts of the building but as I know they can not be exported in IFC either
  3. Phases - can isolate parts of the buildings , can be controled by visibility .... In my oppinion this could be a right way.  A documentation about exporting Phases in IFC  could be found here: http://owblogthing.wordpress.com/2013/06/04/tips-for-exporting-phases-from-revit-to-ifc/

Thanks for your answer! I'm familiar with the phases, but using them doesn't seem to result in an IFC model with divisions, although they are otherwise very usefull.
