Divide Tool

Is there a good way to divide something into equal pieces?
something like the divide command in AutoCAD

you could dimension the something and select 'EQ' to equally space the
somethings. lock or pin the end somethings first if you don't want them to
move.

a specific example of what the 'something' is may get a more specific
solution.

The old classic way, before divide was in AutoCAD (my God I 'm getting old!)
is to draw a line and use the array tool.

That's a good idea, I never thought of that. That might work better then
using the dimension EQ method.
