Dimensions

I am a new user with Revit architecture, is it possible to dimension to a plywood substrate and not one of the core selections.  We like to dimension to the outside of the plywood sheathing, and when dimensioning to center of windows to the end of the building I can not dimension to the plywood substrate, any suggestions?

When you are placing the dimension, if you use the TAB key to cycle through the selection options when hovering over the wall, you should be able to dimension to any of the layers in its structure. Have you tried this?

Or you can chose "Wall Faces" from the dropdown in the options bar. See attachment.

I have changed the properties of the walls placed to exterior face. I have also tried the "Tab" key to try to cycle thru the faces.

I CANNOT get the dimensions to go to the exgterior face of brick. Help!
