Dimensions Rounding Up?

I have a four bay windows with eq distance between them. Then I do an overall dimension and they do not add up. So I took my measuring tool to measure one of the bays and it is 1/2" off. Why????
Thank you for your time!

check your "project units"
it has a tolerance setting....usually +/- 1/2" ...it can be changed to 1/4"

Select Project Units under the Settings tab, click the bar under Format in the Length row and check the rounding value and select a smaller increment
