Dimensions and Room Separation

It seems as if you cannot use dimensions to adjust that locations of Room Separation Lines as you can with Walls or many other objects. Am I missing something or is this "the way is works"??? Thanks...

Dimensions ( and Temp. Dimensions) can be used to move/adjust Room Separation Lines--just confirmed in 2014.

(Have not tried in 2015.)

Then I'm really missing something simple. With a Wall, I click on the Wall I want to move and then the Dimension Line and Revit allows me to enter a new value. I can't seem to get this to work with Room Separation Lines. I don't know what I'm missing - feeling stupid...

That is dimensioning the wall length. Make a box out of Room Separation lines, strike 2 dimensions from side to side and see if it works.

Ok, see what you mean. You are correct. I am not used to 'box' room separators.

Indeed also in 2015 from separator to separator not possible to use (temporary) dimensions to change distance.

Only from separator line to other objects, like here from separator line to grid.

Then changing the (temp) dimension will work.

Thanks for verifying that. The people doing space planning are wanting a more "freeform" or "floating" Room which, early on, doesn't need to be divided by Walls. I have requested a Room Switch which turns a Room from automatically filling to one on which the outline could be editted like a Fill Pattern.
