Had an engineer call me with a question I can't find an answer for. He has a large building that's been split onto 2 sheets with a match line. He wants to show the overall dimension, but dimesions won't show up that reference geometry outside of the crop area. It's not something I've ever needed to deal with, and my normal searching revealed one similar question that got no responses, not even a 'can't be done'. Is there a work around? I suggested faking it, but he wants it to be the actual dimension, I suppose to reflect any changes to the overall, which is Revit's big thing, afterall. Though, it's probably something simple that I missed...
Thanks, y'all.
You might look here:
create a full size plan on a sheet with matchlines displayed and provide the dimension there.
it only creates another sheet that can be used as a key plan
change your crop
if you are using scope boxes create a scope box for the whole building and then create scope boxes to align with your match lines
3 views different scale
master view both areas with matchlines displayed (key plan) 1/16" = 1'-0"
part 1 matchline view cropped to display 1 side 1/8"=1'-0"
part 2 matchline to display other side 1/8"=1'-0"
