Dimension to Center of Circle

Does anyone know why when you dimension it will not allow you to snap to the center of a circle? For a temporary fix I have been drawing lines from the center and dimensioning that way, but if you delete the line there goes your dimension as well. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Go into the properties of the circle (or wall) and turn on the
centermark....

The underlying reasoning - you can't dimension to invisible things. Make it
visible first.

I'm trying to dim a curved wall's thickness.

Any ideas why It can't seem to be done without ref planes?
seems long winded & pointless to me.

In Revit family editor why can i not dimension to the center of a circle to constrain a circle extrusion to a specific location with dimensions and peramerters?

example:  I have a rectangle base 15" x 10" extruded 5".  On top of that extrusion I want to have a 7" diamater circle extruded 2".  How can i keep that circle extrusion constrained to a specific location on the 15" x 10" rectangle base.

Please help!

Circles and arcs have a parameter to show the center mark. Set that On, and align and lock that center mark to reference planes.
