Custom Model Pattern - 8x24 - Revit Arch 2011

Trying to make a Custom Model Pattern - 8"x24". Listed below is the PAT file content.  I tried it and I get the message "No "Model" type patterns found." Any idea about the code in the PAT file.

*8x24
0,       0,0,      0,8
90,      0,0,      8,12,                          8,-8

No need to import an old CAD pattern for something that simple.  Just create a new model pattern (as opposed to drafting pattern) and set the angle to 90, make sure the crosshatch button is checked, and put the spacing for the two directions at 8" and 24" respectively.

Although for future reference, if you do need to import a pattern from CAD, you have to add *drafting or *model (or something to that effect) at the beginning of the .pat file.  Just open up the Revit .pat file and take a look.  It has the instructions there, I think.

Should have been more specific. The 8"x24" is staggered. Like CMU but 8"x24" instead.

Ah, gotcha.  Then just read up on the specific text to add to the CAD pattern...although if I remember correctly, Revit's default .pat file already has a running bond 8x24 pattern in it...

Add this line in the pattern file below the name / desc but before you start linework

;%TYPE=MODEL

How will you create a custom pat file for a rythm of ceiling tiles of

4 tiles of (24''x96'') and follow by 1 tile (4''x96'') the it repeats

Take a look at Hatch 22 add-in for Revit by Mertens3D.

You draw your lines in Revit, select them, and the plug-in creates a .pat file.

Once created, save the .pat file and apply it to a new Material using Custom Fill Pattern.

cheers
