curtain wall with rolled panels

Hi, I'm trying to generate a curtain wall with rolled panels (curved) as I can do this in Revit.

This is possible, but it is not easy. You need a smart family that that can have a parametric curve. There are two options: 1) as a generic curtain panel family, or 2) as an pattern-based family (generic model or curtain wall panel). Also, be aware that curtain walls or curtain system in Revit are not really curved, even if they follow a curved path. See? Even in the virtual world of families curved panels can be expensive. 🙂

Actually, there is a much easier way to acheive this.

As Alfredo said, you cant really do this with normal panels, this is what you want to do to get curved panels in a curtain wall:

  1. Create a Basic Wall, consisting of your panel make-up (12mm glazing or double glazing or something like that)
  2. Create a new curtain wall, and set this Basic wall you just made as the panel
  3. This will allow you to have curved panels in your CW

See the screencast in the link below 🙂

That is a sweet trick. Thanks for sharing. First you made a wall made of glassl, then you configure a curtain wall type to use that wall type as a panel. Then you assign curtain grids and mullions. Very clever.

SIN EMBARGO QUE PASA CON LA CORTINA-SISTEMA DE LAS MASAS, TAMBIÉN SERÁ LA CREACIÓN DE CURVAS?

HOWEVER THAT HAPPENS TO THE CURTAIN-SYSTEM OF THE MASSES, ALSO BE CREATING CURVES.

No, this method cannot be used for Curtain Systems, only Curtain Walls, you can only use Curtain Panles for Systems.

The method you would use to acheive curved panels in a curtain system would be to create a conceptual mass, apply a pattern to the surface, then create a family "Curtain panel by pattern" with spline lines to acheive a curved panel. This requires a fairly Intermediate to Advanced skill level and indepth knowledge of Patterened pannels.

This video shows the process, but you need to know the basics of creating this kind of Rig first:
