Curtain Grid Area

We are trying to schedule curtain grid areas by wall face so that we can use the data in an energy model as well as verify quantities for pricing. There doesn't seem to be an area parameter for curtain grids or an easy way to schedule the area of curtain grids to get the whole surface area of a wall face. Any hints?

Does anyone have any other experience with taking the Revit model into an energy modeling program using another method?

I'm not sure I fully understand your question. Are you asking how to schedule the area of the curtainwall mullions, or of the entire curtainwall surace, or just the area of the panels within a curtainwall?

Just the surface area of the entire curtain grid face. Like measuring the surface area of one face of a mass.

You mean something like this? I just created a schedule and had it
calculate totals for me. Would this work for you? The area of a wall is a
standard parameter that is calculated for everywall placed in Revit.

Curtain Walls have an area parameter. Curtain Grids do not appear to have the area parameter.

Curtain Grids???? Maybe I did not understand. Are you talking about a
curtain system? You are right curtain systems do not report the area.

Yes. Curtain system sorry. So how do I get the surface area of a curved surface with two slanted edges? See the attached image of the shape.

In 2009 the mass object will report total surface area. Sadly there is no
way to break this into the seperate surfaces. So it is kind of an all or
nothing type situation. So if you in need the curving/sloping surface area
you would have to apply walls to the "normal" surface areas and then do the
subtraction manualy.
