Curious.....Stair support editing.........

Editing the stairs to change the Stringers' profile from 'default' to another steel member...........Profiles loade are Channel, C9x15 and HSS 12x2x 1/4....

When editing, routine will see the C9 profile, and "other" profiles create in Project, BUT NOT  HSS, even though it's The PB under Profiles.

Someone have a suggestion?

Mike

Hi Mike,

Open the HSS profile, go to Create>Family Category and Parameters.
In Family parameters, change the profile usage to Stair Support.
Load the profile family back to the project and now it will show up in the list.

That was the very 1st thing I checked.............funny thing is that other profiles that I loaded, WF, C's, L's, show up in the  list, but not this HSS.

Hi,

It looks like the support profile can't be hollow. If you delete the inner line in the profile it will show up in the list.

If you don't do a material takeoff it should be much of an issue, but really it shouldn't work like that.

Well, another thing to add to the whishlist 🙂
