Creating Familys/locations

1.I have found the 'detail component' template perfect for creating 2d familys, but what is the best template to create 2d familys which include text. the 'detail component' template doesnt seem to show text once loaded in.
2. Is there a guide to where certain family templates appear on the design bar once created familys are loaded in. Some appear in detail components, some in symbols, some in components. Would like some clarification so I can better organise my familys

Details can contain text. However you place the text as a symbol in the 2D
family. So you'll need an appropriate generic annotation symbol first.

For a lot of your text you would be using the keynote and tagging features
to place text items in the project.

Families from the details template show up on the detail menu. Generic
annotations show up on the symbols menu. 3D families are components.
