Cost Report

I do you create a cost report in Revit 6.1. Under the View Menu ->New, Cost Report does not show with my installation ???

The Means CostWorks was removed from Revit at 6.0. I'm not sure why, but I guess it's in favor of more accurate estimates being available from ODBC exporting. Thank you Scott for your reply. Regarding ODBC exporting for cost estimate. Could you explain to me (or may be point me to some litterature ) what the steps would be to ODBC export and what product would you export into in order to get a cost estimate.

At this point, I don't know if any third party developers have created a cost estimator for Revit that works with the ODBC export. Some firms/people have created them on their own. There are ways of tying unit costs to quantity take offs from the database. I haven't done it yet, so its hard to comment on it. You should check out some threads on the subject at WWW.AUGI.COM and then go to the Revit forums. It's actually pretty straight forward if you know anything about Excel or Access. ODBC exporting just dumps *everything* from your Revit project into a database format, so that you can then write your own reports to count up stuff and apply unit prices. It's even got the area & length of walls and such, so you can apply total unit costs to actual distance info.
