Copy/Rotate Objects to New Plane?

Please see attached. What's the best way to copy and rotate the group of ballusters highlited around the corner of this deck to the two spaces between columns.

Use the mirror tool and draw a line 45 relative to the corner of the corner

I'm a dummy. I was trying to rotate in a 3d view. I switched to plan view and just rotated a copy.
