Component Visibility

I have a component that I have drawn from a generic template. I have gone in to the family category and placed it in the specialty equipment category. Then I went to my view visibility and made a sub-category for the component. I have several sheets that must have this one and several sheets that must have this off. It will not turn off or on unless I choose the entire category. Any suggestions

The only think I can think of is that you don't have that object on the
correct subcategory, as it normally works like charm. Go back to the family
and click on the object, select properties and check the Subcategory. Make
sure you have the correct one picked. Then of course save it, and reload it
back into your project.
