Cloud rendering via proxy

Hello gang!

Was searching for keyword proxy and did not find a thread covering this already, so here it goes:

We have 8 seats Revit 2012 + 1 seat BDSPrm 2012, all updated to current status.

We'd like to try the cloud rendering features available for that Revit2012 license in the BDSPrm.

Cloud rendering sounds like a key feature for us and we'd probably upgrade more seats to BDSPrm.

Unlike AutoCAD files, from Revit we are bound to use the plugin.

A connection though is not possible. Error message "no internet connection". There _is_ internet connection, of course, but via proxy. Can someone please confirm that cloud rendering works / does not work, when using a proxy?

Proxy username and password are stored in internet options.

Thanks,

André

Try signing out and then back in

Rick,

thank you for your quick reply.

Sign out *where* please?

Here is what I tried:

a.) no browser session active, start Revit2012, select "online", select "cloud rendering"

b.) firefox session active, signed in to subscription center and cloud rendering, then (online/cloud rendering)

c.) IE 9 session active, signed in to subscription center and cloud rendering, then (online/cloud rendering)

No success!

All I get is a message "an internet connection is required, please connect to the internet and try again", then, after selecting "try again" I get an infinite "establishing connection". I translated the texts from german. see attachments.

thank you,

Thank you, Rick.

But I have of course tried this before. It is just another way to bring up the same error messages.

Obviously, Revit is not reading the information for the proxy from the "internet options".

So, WHERE do I store the username and password and address of the proxy in Revit?

thanks,

André

The following blog posting has information about the use of the CEA (Conceptual Energy Analysis) tool through a proxy server:

Conceptual Energy Analysis Login Through Proxy Servers

I suspect that the same issue may be occurring with the Cloud Rendering add-in. You can try going through the steps in the blog posting, but replace the CEA URLs with the following:

http://rendering.cloud.autodesk.com/

https://accounts.autodesk.com

https://api.autodesk.com

http://*.amazonaws.com
