How can you make 45 degree corners for top of garage doors?

These "clipped" corner garage doors openings are quite popular.  Has anyone ever modeled these in their projects?

You can do it making a new Door Family :

  1. New Family > New Family- Select Template Family > Door >Open
  2. in Elevation View -Exterior > using TAB , select the Opening Cut > Edit Sketch > chamfer the corner as in Image 1 - you can make this parametric so to to can control the angle and length of chamfering ( I recomend this) - Now the opening is as you want
  3. Create a sweep for door frame and an extrusion for the door leaf..
  4. Load the door into project --Image 02 (a roughexample )
