Hello
We are using Revit Architecture 2009, and we are trying to make clapboard siding as outside layer on our exterior wall, but how do we do that?

We hope you can help us - we are pretty new to Revit, so it would be good with some guidance.

Thanks :smileyhappy:

Just like brick, clapboard siding is not modeled, it is set as a material and will render correctly. Set the layer to clapboard and assign the right material with line hatch for 2d views.

It's just that we can't find the clapboard siding on the list of materials - how come?

There are some horizontal sidings that may work - not sure. Now is a good time to learn how to create your own materials. 3D patterns like this require a bump file as well as the image file. You can learn more about this on RevitCITY.

If for some reason you *really* want to model it:

Twoid- we need to find a balance between
modeling things and detailing things..

probably modelling every stip of wood
that makes up a clapboard siding would
be too much modelling..

that very well could be. I started on 2010 so have no access/knowledge
about what's available in previous versions
