Change the object type of a key schedule

I have just created A LOT of key schedules, perhaps before I was completely aware of how they worked. Now I am in the position where I want to change them from being Keyed to Mechanical Equipment to something else, say Mass Elements. Is this possible without losing all of my Key Schedules and starting over?

Secondly, I'm doing this for a 'Notes' area to sit beneath Schedules. (for example, there are notes specific to that schedule). I liked the idea that they would all live in the 'Schedules' area of the default project browser, so my users could see the Notes and Schedules side-by-side in the PB.  Does anybody have a better way of doing this?  Ive attached an image showing what I'm doing to clarify it.

My other CAD is a Cadillac and I like to Revit to the Max!
