Central Files

When whorking with central files, Is it best to open the central file always and make sure that the creat local copy option is checked or can you open the local copy and sync to central?  I am trying to understand best practice when working with central files and multiple users.

Either way is fine.  I personally prefer to create a new local each time, but if you're working on a lot of different projects at once, or have trouble locating the central file, then opening your local might be a better option.  Like you said, though, always Sync if you're going to open the local file rather than create a new one.
