Cannot Place New Column Family into Project

Guys,

I'm have a little problem here.

So i made a new collumn family based on a template then imported a lineworks to be traced in revit. After i finish the model and try to import to my current project  it always give an error which says none of the created element visible in my current view.

Any suggestion?

column family attached.

Cheers

In your family you designed the column so that it would fit between two layers of 30880 distance.

When you load your family in a project probbaly the distance between the two levels are not that big.

Revit will try to squeeze your column between the two layers and fails to do so.

If in your project you will set the distance between the two layers also to 30880 the column will load an can be placed.

Hi Enlint,

in my project i got 5 levels with the top level height is around 28000, so this column i designed will go through level 1 to the extend of level 5 (30880) instead of connecting each level individually,so how can i do this?

thanks

I think the easiest solution is to modify your family.

Lets say in your project the distance between level 0 en 1 is 4000 mm.

In your family make sure that the Upper Ref Level is also 4000 mm.

Load your family in the project on level 0.

Hi Enlint,

Yes it works now, thanks a lot mate.

so upper ref level on a familiy workspace represent the upper level of current level on project workspace.

thanks!
