Cannot find folder containing the Family Files

Hello,

I'm currently using a Revit Architecture 2012 student version.

After pressing the 'Load Family' button I end up in the following folder : C:/Program Files/Autodesk/Revit Architecture 2012/Program. But I can't find the actual families i'm looking for.

Does anyone know where I can find these files, or how to fix this problem ?

Try starting your search here: C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\RAC2012\Templates\

If this does not help, try looking through these posts:

or

Hope this helps.

I actually found this folder after i turned on the "show hidden folders" option.

But how do I import these files into Revit ? These are .RFT files and can't open them with the "load family" option.

What do I do now?

Those .rft files are family templates, to create families. If you want to load families you need the .rfa files, which are, by default, saved in a path like this or similar:

C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\RVT 2013\Libraries\US Imperial

you might have missed installing revit libraries while installing Revit.

you can still add by downloading (or copying from another computer) and place these at the specified path.
