When Saving families to an existing folder (say, to update your custom content library), I cannot believe that there is no option to a) Overwrite All, or b) entirely cancel the process. Rather, it's necessary to tap the Enter, (or Escape) key repeatedly to individually overwrite, or cancel each entry in the Family that may already exist in the folder you're saving to.
Thanks for your attention,
JP.
When using the Save As -> Library -> Family option, and specifying a folder that already contains some of the files that will be saved from the project, I am not seeing an option to Overwrite All or Skip all.
To work around this, I would suggest picking an empty folder, and then copy/move these files to the final destination using Windows (as these options should be available when copying in Windows).
There are a few ways to stop the operation once it has started. I am listing these in order of least to most impact (on the project / system):
- Hit the Cancel button on the status bar (bottom left).
Note: This can be a bit tricky to use as you need to hit this between overwrite dialogs (while the Cancel button is displayed).
- Stop the Revit process (using Task Manager or the TSKILL command).
- Restart the system.
I do agree that this behavior can cause a bad experience when saving a lot of families (especially if you have no recourse but to restart the entire system to stop the operation).
