Can't get subregions to show Revit 2011

I can't get subregions to show, can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong.  I'm on Rev 2011.  I didn't have a problem with Rev 2010.  I've attached a very SIMPLE sample file.

Thank you for providing a file. Can you elaborate a little on what you mean when you say you can't get them to show?

Both of the subregions in the example file were set to <By category> in the material parameter.  To get them to show differently you need to change the material parameter.

I was not applying properly applying material to toposurface and subregion.  Thanks for the response.

Always make sure you set your visibility settings the way you want them...otherwise, objects will not show...

Example:  You want to show a road as a solid object (made as a subregion) in your site plan.  Go to the Palette (I'm using Revit 2011 so bypass this if you don't have this)...go to "View Range", then click "edit', set your view depth to a level that encompasses the surface you want to render/make visible, then set the "Bottom cut plane" to a level that matches this same visibility range.

For instance: I made a road as a subregion.  My house had a basement, with a surrounding topo of 200sq feet and the road lay about 200+ feet away from the house.  To make the road show in the site plan, I made the view depth level "basement" and the bottom cut plane I set to "-2'-0''".

I've been reading ALOT of bad suggestions about this on other sites....

Yes, you can design a road, but hopefully someday the designers will place a little button that says "ROAD"

I addition...I was having the same problem.  Make sure the LINES category is visible in VV.
