Can default render material be changed for imported dwg?

After importing a dwg file (polymesh) from Maya to ACAD to Revit, it always renders with the default revit material. I tried to change the 'default' and 'default form' render materials in Revit > Manage > Materials, and also added materials to Manage > Settings > Objects > Imported - but nothing works. Although this changes the display material, it always renders in the white default. Is there a way to access the default render material to change it? Thanks.

i don't usually render an imported DWG wireframe-
but the way i do it is look at the new material labels
added to the materials dialog because of the import and
make each one a different color and then do a quick
render of the DWG and see which one of those
number/colors go to what parts of the wireframe..

maybe there's a better way- i don't know..

Much thanks Vector2, works perfectly, no better way needed, BRILLIANT! I wasted an entire day on this yesterday. Any ideas how to get a section or plan cut to work on an imported DWG like this?
