black lines and shaded view

look at any shaded line view of a building with red brick...
notice all the black lines INCLUDING the brick pattern lines..
also notice if you change to shaded view only- all the
black lines go away INCLUDING the brick pattern lines..
i want a shaded view WITH the brick pattern lines..
and changing the brick pattern line color is
easy.. the pattern lines seem to be a separate function from the edge lines anyway and yet they go on and off with
all the edge lines.. i was able to use the linework tool to make
the edge lines invisible one by one but that took forever..
lines are in the visability graphics dialog but i can't
get it to do anything that way..
i want a shaded view with pattern lines.. thanks

i want the pattern lines but not the other black edge lines..
i see no visual purpose for the corner of a wall to
be represented with a black line.. have you ever seen
a nice rendering with the corner of a wall having a
black line running along the edge? shaded views look
great with the colors of walls meeting at the corners just
like with rendering.. but black lines look wrong.. but the
PATTERN LINES (like on bricks) look great especially if
you change their color in the wall structure properties..
same with roof patterns.. with shaded only views the
walls and roof are only solid colors.. all you have to do
is look at a shaded view of a red brick wall and you
will not know if there is any brick there.. the only way
to see that brick is to have all the useless black lines on?
please don't tell me to use the line tool to make each and
every black edge line invisable.. yes that works but takes
forever.. thanks
