BA convert to REVIT; vice versa?

My company currently does not use BIM. We currently have Architecture 2008, so REVIT seems like the obvious choice when choosing a BIM program. Unfortunately one of our biggest clients (COE) may be requiring BA specifically.

Does anyone know if BA files can be converted to REVIT and vice versa?

thanks,

Yvonne

What is BA? AutoCAD Architecture 2008 (formerly known as ADT or Architectural Desktop) I know and teach, as well as Revit Architecture 2008 (formerly known as Revit Building) and AutoCAD 2008.

As for AutoCAD Architecture 2008 being interoperable with Revit Architecture, NO! they are not interoperable in exchanging 3D models or the intelligent data attached to their building elements and components. You cannot convert their respective 3D models from one application to another. You can import AutoCAD Architecture's model or 2D views to Revit Architecture and vice-versus by exporting one anothers views into DWG format (in the case of AutoCAD Architecture opening it in AutoCAD and flattening it). But they are only usable as backgrounds or in Revit Architecture as a mass model, which can then be converted with Revit Architecture face based system element or component tools.

Bentley Architecture. I'm not sure it would be desirable, but currently
Revit can import/export V7 DGN files which would be similar to the process
Mel describes below with importing/exporting DWG files.
