ALL TABS AND RIBBON PANELS MISSING? HELP!!

I opened revit 2015 and all the panels, tabs and tool bars were missing. I mean.. there is nothing up the top of my revit page? How is this even possible!? Is there ANYONE who can help? I am an Interior Design student and need revit to complete assignemnts.

HELP!

I have attached a screen shot of the page... check it out....

Hello!

I would assume you closed Revit and re-opened and nothing came back?

I would suggest renaming you Revit.ini file or move it to another folder and force Revit to reset everything.

You can find it in two locations.

Revit uses 2 versions of the Revit.ini file:

  • UserDataCache folder: C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\<product and release>\UserDataCache
  • User Profile folder: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Revit\<product name and release>

Again - I would strongly suggest saving the optional as a back-up.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

You can't think AutoCAD and run Revit.

Hi, Thanks for the suggestion 🙂

I tried that to no avail. I have tried everry conceivable thing and still, whenever I open a new or preexisting file the ribbon simply dissapears and all that is there is a grey space 😞

Close Revit, then delete the UIState.dat file located at C:\Users\YourUsernameHere\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Revit\Autodesk Revit 2014

Then reopen Revit.  If that doesn't work, you could try a repair installation (same as a new install, just click Repair).

If you have not already, I would take a look at the page below:
