2008 files don't open

I've been trying to open some of my files from 2008 on revit 2010 and it doesn't open.I am using a mac and I get the message: '' failed to open file''

what can I possibly do?

I would verify the following items:

1.  Version of Revit 2008

Can you verify you are running the latest version of Revit 2008?  If not, test the latest build release below:

Here is a thread I want to potentially rule out:

error/td-p/2147946

2.  Ensure Revit 2010 is up to date

Make sure you have applied the service pack here:

http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/item?siteID=123112&id=12828862

3.  Open in Revit 2009?

Can you verify if the 2008 file opens as expected in 2009?  If so, save a 2009 copy and attempt to upgrade to 2010.

4.  Audit

Open the project in 2008 with Audit.  Save a copy.  Repeat for 2009 \ 2010.  I want to verify if it opens each subsequent release without jumping releases.

Please let us know if this helps.

Thank you,

Ryan Duell
