Selecting elements on a linked file

is it possible to selet elemets by dragging a window inside a linked project? it seems it's possible to select elements only with CTRL one by one!

hello, you can try this, pick elements/objects > right click in your mouse > choose select all instances > visible in view. OR you can use filter. thanks.

But I need the draging windows this time – to select all elements in a
certain area. Is it possible?

Hi @danezeq

 

"Using Revit only"; it is not possible to use a drag/crossing window to select multiple elements in a Link. However; it is possible using other means...example Dynamo. For instance, Spring Nodes has a "Select Linked Elements" with which one can select multiple elements using a crossing window.

 

Should you need further assistance in discovering Dynamo; it would be best to visit the dynamo forum on DynamoBIM.org

You will most probably need to describe what you want to do exactly or the purpose of the multi selection, then someone would maybe help you.

Hey @danezeq

 

Well in principle yeah that is what I said; till date it's the only available solution for what you asked for...although personally I don't see Dynamo as a third party. Dynamo is a part of the Autodesk Family so it is still considered under the 2nd Party (user being the 1st) 🙂
