I am getting quite annoyed by the frequent inability to get onto the Wikihelp site, it is down again now and when I did get some life out of it, although I am signed on through Revit and through this forum it is saying that I do not have access permission and that I should sign in!!

What is going on,anyone got a definitive answer?

Hi,

Where is all the Revit API documentation in the new WikiHelp website? Is it gone forever?

Thanks

Marc

Dear Marcart,

wikihelp.autodesk.com is being migrated to help.autodesk.com.  It will be on a new system.  It was launched about a month ago.  Apparently, it is not complete and having issues right now.

In a mean time, looks like if you try to access 2013 version from here:

http://wikihelp.autodesk.com/Revit/enu/2013/Help/00006-API_Developer's_Guide

it seems that it allows you to view 2013 of developer guide.

You may be looking for 2014 specific info.  But just thought I mention in a mean time.

We appologize for the inconvenience it is causing.  We appreciate your patience.

While we are still waiting for the fix, Jeremy tells us about PDF version of Revit 2013 Developer Guide:

>>>>

if all else fails, here is an offline PDF version of the Revit 2013 developer guide:

http://thebuildingcoder.typepad.com/files/revit_2013_api_developer_guide.pdf

http://thebuildingcoder.typepad.com/blog/2013/10/revit-2013-api-developer-guide-pdf.html#2

<<<<

When it comes to Revit API, Jeremy's blog does have a lot of information.  You may want to search there, too.

Once a again, sorry for the inconvenience.

H Mikado,

This link http://wikihelp.autodesk.com/Revit/enu/2013/Help/00006-API_Developer's_Guide currently redirects to this URL... http://help.autodesk.com/view/RVT/2014/ENU/ The Revit 2013 documentation is not available online.

Dear Dave,

I'm really sorry about what's happening with autodesk online document site.

This link should have stop redirecting to the help.autodesk now.

http://wikihelp.autodesk.com/Revit/enu/2014/Help/3661-Developers

There has been some on-going work, and looks like some have decided to move to the new system, not knowing contents aren't fully migrated.  I'm sure this is frustlating everybody in this community.

According to the information I recieved, this is temporary.  As soon as all the contents are migrated, it will start re-directing again.  We asked them to inform us before they do that so that we can do some testing.

Another thing I noticed is that Search also redirect to the help.autodesk.  I have asked if they can stop that too.  It's very hard look up info with out search working.

Thank you for patience.
