Sub Discipline of sections

Dear Forum Members,

How do I get to know that a particular section is related to which sub discipline. I can know its discipline because its there in its properties. but value for its sub discipline property is blank.

Thanks & Regards

I believe the "sub-discipline" is just a text Project Parameter. Meaning that it can actually be set to anything. You can use it to sort by for your Project Browser, or any other kind of view filtering. All Revit will do is look for the same vaule and then sort those views accordingly.

If you create a new section in a view with a sub-discipline, Revit will leave the sub-discipline blank for the new view. So this is something that will need to be adjusted with each new view (unless it is duplicated from another).

Hope that helps!

Thanks,

Casey
