Revit Build version to Update Release number

Hi All,

I am unable to find documentation that relates the Revit Build version to the Update Release number. For example:

Build: 20140709_2115(x64) = Update Release 3

Is this published anywhere?

Or alternatively, the information string "Update Release 3" does not appear to be part of the Revit.exe FileVersionInfo that I can see. I am guessing that this descriptive information is applied internally.

Thanks, Dale

Dear Dale,

Happy New Year to you and thank you for your query.

Doesn't the perpetual GUID algorithm for the Revit product GUIDs cover this?

I hope this helps.

Best regards,

Jeremy

Hi Jeremy, Thanks for the reply. I did read that previously, but a reminder is always appreciated. The IT dept was looking for the text "Update Release 3" as we are querying computers remotely to determine the installed Revit build. I now see that text is a registry entry: "ServicePackID". We don't want to dig that deep (remotely) so the .exe build number is more than enough. Regards, Dale
