I'm looking for a way to to read and update Revit files and I'm not sure if the Revit API can do what I want so any help would be greatly appreciated!
Can the revit API be used to create a "stand alone application" to read/update Revit files? (Much like the RealDWG can be used to create an application that can read/write dwg files)
As I understand an installation of a Revit product is needed for development purposes but is it also needed to run a seperate host application?
Revit plugi-ns/addins can only run within Revit. Yes, So installation of Revit is needed before run custom external command. There is no equivalent library like RealDWG for Revit so far.
