How to Identify a Beam is Cellular through API?

Hi

   I am trying to Identify cellular beams from the selected elements through API. Any Ideas..

Hi Sansen,

 

Not sure if I understand your question.  Do you have a Cellular beam family defined?  Or using somebody else and trying to get some property?  Maybe if you point to where you identify in UI using a sample family, maybe we can point to it.

  I am using Revit instalation families only. From Beam section details,  Can I able to Identify beam is Cellular or not?

Revit didn't expose the API to determine if a column, beam is a celluar section.

You can judge if it is culluar by analyzing the family instance's geometry data.

calling Element.Geometry() property to get its geometry data, and then get the bottom face (column) or the side face(beam). Then check if the face  contains arc edge or not.
