Choice to show/hide Temporary Dimensions when selecting elements

When I create a line in a Revit family, and then select it, Revit shows me temporary dimensions.

I googled whether I have the choice to see them or not when selecting lines, because I consider the dims to be distracting.

This is simply a personal preference. I realize that many folks out there appreciate these dims. I just want the option to see them only when I choose to.

In another subject on this discussion group, the answer is that this is not an available preference in Revit.

Would anyone happen to know whether this is possible via the API?

Hi Santiago,

I don't think Revit expose the UI Setting or API to control the visibility of the temporary dimension.

Via the Revit.INI, users can control the appearance of the temporary dimension, however cannot control its visibility.
